We rely on official and primary sources as the foundation of our reporting because they provide the most direct, authoritative information available. These sources are cited routinely in our articles and are the first stop when verifying facts, data, or official statements.

We also use reputable wire services such as The Canadian Press and regularly consult industry and trade publications for specialised beats. Every source is evaluated for credibility, relevance, and timeliness before inclusion. Our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Andrew Leblanc (andrew.leblanc@canadascene.org), oversees verification protocols and maintains a reference library of trusted primary sources.
How to challenge our reporting
We take corrections and challenges seriously because accuracy is our core commitment. If you believe an article contains an error, omission, or misleading statement, please contact our corrections team at corrections@canadascene.org or call the editorial line at +1 416 555 0220. We ask that you provide the article URL, a clear description of the issue, and any supporting evidence. Our Editor-in-Chief, Catherine Roy, reviews each complaint and responds within five business days. If a correction is warranted, we publish a note at the top of the article and update the text accordingly. For concerns about editorial conduct or breach of policy, you may also submit a formal complaint via our complaints procedure.
